Resourcefulness is a foundational skill in life. Growing up immersed in the local skateboarding/music/street art environments I tried my hand at all. I quickly learned that I wasn’t cut to be a tagger or graffiti kid. I was afraid of getting caught. I couldn’t decide on a single word to define myself and I wasn’t confident enough in my artistic abilities to really start throwing stuff up.
I was introduced to postal stickers early on. I first saw them in some graffiti books that friends were creating and I was informed that 1) they’re free 2) you can take your time with the piece your creating as you’re not rushed by the po-po 3) punishment is much more minor getting caught for putting up stickers as opposed to getting busted red handed with a bag of spray paint.
These days I find creating these stickers is relaxing, from time to time I can even get my kids to join in, sit at the art table with me, drawing and listening to music.
Currently these will be made available as one-off signed/numbered originals and cheaper prints. Both will be mounted on an 8” x 10” black matte ready for framing.
